Bābak Golestani, born on august 1981 in Tehran, is a composer and photographer based in Luzern/Switerland. He composes algorithmic / acousmatic music and has worked also as producer and Tonmeister with classical ensembles and orchestras. His creative focus—both in sound and in image—centers on themes of alienation, instability, and shifting boundaries.
Bābak studied music among others with Daniel Weissberg, Michael Harenberg and Peter Scherer at Bern University of the Arts. His multichannel music has experienced several performances in Europe. His musical album Tootia contains pieces for string instruments and the piano: his compositions of the past 20 years.
